Bob coordinates Gowan Mechanical Services’ wide-ranging resources and expertise to ensure that clients get responsive, high-performance HVAC & mechanical solutions that help them meet the energy and other challenges involved in effectively managing today’s facilities. His major responsibilities include overseeing the high-quality construction, retrofit, and remodeling projects clients need to customize their existing business environments for maximum comfort, efficiency, and productivity. He also makes sure clients’ building equipment and systems are maintained, tested, and commissioned for optimum reliability and performance. By acting as the single point of responsibility for all of these services, Bob enables the company to provide innovative solutions that meet clients’ business requirements in a responsive and timely way, while providing an ongoing return on their facility investment.
Sheet Metal & Tenant Services Expertise
After joining Gowan in 1980 as a sheet metal journeyman, Bob moved on to become a foreman in 1986 and project manager in 1990. In 1999, the company promoted him to tenant services manager and later, vice president of tenant services. He took his current position in 2005.
Bob attended Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. In addition to his four-year apprenticeship with Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA), he has participated in the MCAA Institute for Project Management and various other continuing education courses. He is president of the Houston Sheet Metal Contractors Association and board chair of its Joint Advisory Committee.
