HVAC & PLUMBING SCOPE OF SERVICES
For more than 30 years, Gowan Mechanical Services has provided American General Insurance Group (AIG) with heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing services at its Houston campus. Now, AIG plans to expand its data centers within this property, where the new computer room air conditioners will require additional condenser water. The previous HVAC system at this facility, however, did not provide condenser water reliably.
MECHANICAL HVAC SOLUTIONS
To deliver this cooling tower replacement project successfully, Gowan Mechanical Services built its schedule around the delivery dates of the cooling tower components, and erection of “gantry” and derrick cranes on the roof of a 43-story tower, the centerpiece of AIG’s Houston campus. After demolishing and removing one of the previous cells, the company assembled and installed a new one. Once it had been commissioned and was operating properly, Gowan Mechanical Services repeated the process sequentially for each of the remaining cells until all of them had been removed and replaced by newer units. These HVAC units will also permit future expansion. All of the work was completed without disrupting building operations.
