HVAC SCOPE OF SERVICES
Gowan Mechanical Services helped this client by providing an energy-efficient central plant and a 3,800-linear-foot chilled water loop that serves the client’s data center. The central plant installation included three 300-ton chillers, three 100-horsepower pumps, two fan coil units and four 20-ton Liebert units.
The installation for the 25,000 s.f data center consisted of fourteen 40-ton Liebert units, one outside air handler, 22 fan coil units and a new facility monitoring system. The company also provided eight connections to meet future needs.
Since the data center was on the second floor of a three-story building, Gowan Mechanical Services' main challenge was to fit the equipment and materials for the installation into the facility’s elevators. To meet this challenge, Gowan Mechanical Services worked closely with the equipment manufacturers to design units that would fit within the allowable space. The company and the contractor then transported the equipment and new materials into the occupied facility without disrupting day-to-day activities.
