Fabrication Services: Exhaust System Design/Build
An efficient, high-quality state-of-the-art exhaust system; a healthy laboratory environment; ability to offer more services; custom-made exhaust system ductwork; a substantial trunk line support network.
To provide fabrication services in upgrading its laboratory exhaust system to accommodate expansion along with a wider array of lab services.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
For this project, Gowan Mechanical Services furnished and installed a leading-edge laboratory exhaust solution. The system included three new M.A.D. (media absorption devices), two 20,470-cubic-feet-per-minute roof-mounted exhaust fans and a complete 46-inch round stainless steel high-pressure exhaust system. In the laboratories, the company connected additional ductwork to the lab hoods and put in new Phoenix valves to maintain proper pressurization within the system.
Gowan Mechanical Services’ detailing department used its AutoCAD expertise to custom-design a fully welded, high-pressure, stainless steel exhaust system that can handle operating pressures of negative 10.5 inches.
The company also constructed a network of galvanized I-beam supports to carry the system’s main trunk line. The supports’ bottom elevation ranges from 18 feet, 6 inches to 22 feet, 6 inches with 28-inch round drop-downs that connect to the M.A.D. units.
